Philadelphia Society for Coatings Technology 

Reaxis displayed a portfolio of catalyst products at the tabletop exhibits during the Philadelphia Society for Coatings Technology conference on May 6-7 in Horsham, PA.  Areas of interest included non-tin chemistries, lower toxicity systems, non-butyl organotin chemistries, and delayed action systems.


Sink or Swim! 2008 
Reaxis was a silver sponsor at the Sink or Swim! 2008 Technical Conference and Exhibition in Akron, Ohio on May 21-22.  The event was sponsored by the Cleveland Coatings Society.  At the exhbition Reaxis showcased a portfolio of catalyst products for CASE applications.  Areas of interest included non-tin chemistries, lower toxicity systems, non-butyl organotin chemistries, and delayed action systems.  Some new systems for waterborne applications were also presented.

Goldschmidt Industrial Chemical Corporation Announces Name Change to Reaxis Inc.

 

MCDONALD, PA - (March 10, 2008) – Goldschmidt Industrial Chemical Corporation, formerly a subsidiary of Degussa AG, now Evonik, recently announced a company name change to Reaxis Inc., effective March 10, 2008.  Several senior level managers acquired the industrial chemicals division of Evonik in a Management Buy Out (MBO).

Reaxis has a rich history dating back to 1935 with the incorporation of Pitt Metals. The company manufactured inorganic tin compounds in the 1970s.  In 1993 the company became Goldschmidt Industrial Chemical Corporation with the sale of Pitt Metals to Th. Goldschmidt, AG which was subsequently acquired by Evonik. As of December 2006, Reaxis became an independent company.

  

Headquartered in McDonald, PA, Reaxis manufactures an extensive range of catalysts that are used in the processing and production of a number of key products including polymers (resins), coatings, elastomers, adhesives and sealants and oleochemicals. AC Show 2008 

Reaxis featured a new line of non-butyl organotin and non-tin catalyst products for CASE and polymer applications at booth #1023 during the inaugural American Coatings Show, which was held in Charlotte on June 3-5.

Other product types included lower toxicity chemistries and delayed action systems.

 


Sur/Fin 2008 

Reaxis was a silver sponsor at Sur/Fin 2008 which was held in Indianapolis on June 16-18.

In addition to a line of tin chemicals for surface finishing and plating applications, we featured REAXIS Suract CR, which is a new additive to replace fluorosurfactants in chrome plating applications.

Other new products featured included REAXIS Suract DRY drying agent, REAXIS Suract RHEO 10 rheology modifier, and REAXIS OV 21 stabilizer for brightener baths.
